Eligibility

Prelude:

(Introduction to ensemble playing.) Open to string students who have a good set-up including posture and basic technique plus studies in note-reading and rhythm training. Minimum of at least one year of study on instrument before applying. Average age: 7—12.

Overture:

Open to string students who have a good set-up including posture and basic technique plus studies in note-reading and rhythm training. Minimum of at least one year of Orchestra Experience before applying. Average age: 9—14.

Intermezzo:

Open to string students who have at least three years of orchestra experience. Must be solid in rhythm training and comfortable with shifting. Vibrato is preferred. Recommended that Intermezzo students take private lessons. Average age: 11—16.

Finale:

Enrollment is limited to advanced string students with a minimum of five years orchestra experience. Applicants are required to have a signature from their private music instructor. Must be accurate in higher positions, off-string bowings, vibrato and have a mature, controlled tone. Students applying to this level will be approved after review from the camp conductors and may be asked to audition. Average age: 14—18.
