KSO UnStaged: Flight
If you like experiencing music in new and interesting venues, then why not an airplane hangar? Cirrus Aircraft, newly relocated in Alcoa, TN, has opened up their space for us to fill with beautiful music which will "take flight." The KSO musicians are going UnStaged for this event, FLIGHT, which will include food and drink in a casual atmosphere while enjoying several sets of music by Aram Dermirjian and KSO ensembles.
Sunday, April 15, 7:00 p.m. at Cirrus Aircraft. 110 Tyson Blvd, Alcoa, TN 37701
Tickets are $40; this event is 21+ only. No refunds or exchanges.
KSO is launching a new series, "UnStaged," where guests can expect to hear the KSO with craft beer in hand at a local pub or while standing in the midst of the Orchestra in an airplane hangar, with sound “taking flight” all around. Contrary to the typical concert setting and structure, small ensembles of musicians will play several sets of 10-15 minutes of music throughout the night.
About the music:
In an otherwise empty aircraft hangar, surrounded by Cirrus aircraft, patrons will be invited to "take flight" through music surrounded by the idea of "taking flight." Pieces will inspire ideas such as "Harnessing the Wind," and include a set around "Technology in Flight" with instruments representing everything from jets to rockets taking flight in outer space. The final set of music temporarily transports us far away, as though we are soaring through the skies. to visit a faraway island.
