Beethoven Violin Concerto

Join the KSO for a powerful concert of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, Strauss’ Death and Transfiguration, and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Overture-Fantasy from Romeo & Juliet. Knoxville audiences will enjoy these highly romantic tone poems which the KSO has not performed in several years.

Joshua Gersen is currently the Assistant Conductor of the New York Philharmonic, as well as the Music Director of the New York Youth Symphony. He was previously the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Conducting Fellow of the New World Symphony, where he served as the assistant conductor. Paul Huang is a Taiwanese-American violinist and recipient of the prestigious 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant and holds two degrees from The Juilliard School.

 All students grades K-12 can attend this concert FREE with purchase of one adult ticket as part of the Penny4Arts program. Up to 3 students per adult ticket; some restrictions apply. Must redeem by visiting or calling the KSO Box Office at 865-291-3310 prior to the day of the concert (M-F, 9-5). Offer not available online or at the door. Questions:

At The Concert:

Please allow extra time for parking downtown and security lines.

Pre-concert chats with the conductor and guest artists begin at 6:30 p.m. where patrons get insight into the music on the program, and a chance for Q&A.

Please be aware of the following security policy for the Bijou and Tennessee Theatres:
- no backpacks or large bags will be allowed inside the theatre. All purses and bags will be subject to search.
- Electronic wands will be waived over all patrons upon entry. All patrons should allow extra time for going through security as lines can build up. 
- Weapons including pocket knives are strictly prohibited and will not be allowed into the venue. 
- No backpacks, weapons or personal items will be held at the door - patrons must return these items to their cars.
