Lettie Andrade De La Torre
Lettie Andrade De La Torre, soprano from Niceville, Florida graduated from the University of New Orleans with her B.M. and completed her dual M.M. in both Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Tennessee. Her performance experiences in both Broadway Musicals and Operas include; Maria in West Side Story, Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Betty Blake in Will Roger Follies Life in Revue, Madeline in Face on the Barroom Floor, and Mrs. Hayes in Susanna, She debut with Knoxville Opera for their Rossini Festival as Jenny Slade from Roman Fever. She has also played Evita Peron from Evita at Knoxville’s Bijou Theater. She continues to work with the Knoxville Opera company including productions of Turandot, Die Fledermaus, Mikado, the understudy for Barbarina in the Marriage of Figaro, and Yum-Yum in the Mikado. She also debuted as the Countess in Le Nozze Di Figaro with The Loon Opera Company. Her role of Elisetta in Il Matrimonio Segreto has been her first international role. Her career also includes working with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Young People’s Concert series as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel and as a soloist with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. She has been the soprano singer for The Ensemble Swing Time, a sixteen piece big band that performs jazz and Broadway around Knoxville, Maryville, and Townsend areas for the last three years. Her love of music has and will continue to serve her community first and then beyond.
