In 1994 David Aaron Katz was engaged as the leading tenor in the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir in Israel. That same year he was invited to join the 'Bulgarian Touring Company' with which he sang the leading tenor roles of Rodolfo in BOHEME, Alfredo in TRAVIATA and Nemorino in ELISIR D'AMORE in major opera houses in Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
Mr. Katz returned to the United States and studied voice with Maestro Cornelius Reid, Maestro Franco Iglesias and Atarah Hazzan. He has performed the roles of Rodolfo in LA BOHEME and Alfredo in LA TRAVIATA with Opera in the Hamptons in three consecutive seasons and has been asked to return for special concerts and recitals. He sang the title role in FAUST with the Amato Opera of New York. Rodolfo in LA BOHEME at the Urbania Summer Opera Festival with the Orchestra di Commune Urbania and the Orchestra di commune Macheratta, Italy. He sang Fenton in FALSTAFF excerpts with One World Symphony of New York, and FIDELIO excerpts concert with the same company. Mr. Katz was the tenor soloist in CARMINA BURANA and BEETHOVEN'S NINTH SYMPHONY with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Meastro Stephen Gunzenhauser. He was the tenor soloist with the Mineola Choral Society in the MOZART C MINOR MASS.,....tenor soloist in Mendelssohn's ELIJAH with the Oratorio Society of Queens and Max Helfman's Yiddish version of JUDAS MACABEAUS with the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, and tenor soloist in THE MESSIAH with the St. Ignatius orchestra and choir in Long Beach, NY.
In Musical Theater he sang the roles of: Ralph in PIRATES OF PENZANCE, NankiPoo in MIKADO, Huckelberry Finn in BIG RIVER, Woof in HAIR and Riff Raff in the original stage version of the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. He has sung the National Anthem at Citi Field for the New York Mets and The Nassau Coliseum for the New York Rangers.
David Katz is a member of the “THE THREE JEWISH TENORS” along with Cantors Alberto Mizrachi and David Propis. He has sung with the Houston Grand Opera Symphony with Marvin Hamlisch conducting, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and The Pacific Symphony orchestra, the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, The Queens Oratorio Society Symphony, The Pan American Orchestra Of New York, The One World Symphony as well as many other prominent Orchestras through out the United States.
Additional performances include a Mario Lanza Tribute concert at the Great Neck Opera Arts Festival of NY, Rodolfo in LA Boheme with the One World Symphony in New York City, Select Arias with the Pan American Orchestra Of New York with Maestro Joeseph Lliso, solo's and duets sung at the Long Beach International Music Series and a sold out recital at Grey Towers Kindred Spirits Arts Programs in Milford, Pennsylvania.
He was the featured artist/cantor at the Issachar Miron 85th Anniversary Concert in New York City, and a featured tenor in the CLASSICAL SINGER CONVENTION 2005 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Mr. Katz resides in Long Island New York.
