Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra on February 22, 2015
at 7:00 PM at the Tennessee Theatre
The competition is open to all high-school students who play an orchestral instrument and live in Knox, Anderson, Blount, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Loudon, Roane, Sevier or Union counties, or are current members of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra Association.
Auditions are limited to one movement of a solo work with orchestral accompaniment.
The orchestral accompaniment parts must be readily available by purchase or rental. Questions about the suitability of a piece should be emailed to KSO Youth OrchestraManager: Kathy Hart.
Students must submit the following:
Application, recordings and fees must be received by November 1, 2014.
Each application must be printed and have a private instructor’s signature and a parent’s signature.
- PRELIMINARY ROUND RECORDINGS:
Please email a recording of the applicant performing one movement of a solo work with orchestra accompaniment. The recording should include a piano accompanist performing the piano reduction of the orchestral part. ONLY AUDIO RECORDINGS will be accepted. Recorded media accepted include: iTunes and Windows programs that produce mp3 and mp4 formats. They should be emailed to Kathy@knoxvillesymphony.com or you may mail a hard copy of a standard compact disc along with your application fee to the address below.

Finalists will be posted on this section of the website by November 17, 2014.
The Final Live Round will take place on Monday, December 8, 2014 and finalists will be notified of their audition time via email.
